SCL Founding Partner Jeff Shinder recently spoke with Payments Dive about the prospect of Congress passing the Credit Card Competition Act this year, thanks to renewed vigor in regulating Visa and Mastercard.
In Payment Dive’s Article, “Payment plays gather momentum in 2025: 6 industry trends to watch,” Jeff had the following to say about Senator Dick Durbin, one of the authors of the bill:
“Senator Durbin is well known to be antagonistic to Visa and Mastercard, for reasons I support, but he has some interesting allies, and that keeps the prospect that the bill could pass very much alive heading into the new Congress,” said Jeff Shinder, an attorney with Shinder Cantor Lerner who has pressed class action claims against the networks on behalf of merchants.
