Last week, the American Lawyer recognized the Plaintiffs’ team in Sidibe et al. v. Sutter Health, including SCL Founding Partner Matthew Cantor and SCL Partners James Kovacs and Wyatt Fore, as runners up for Litigators of the Week. The American Lawyer’s announcement pointed to the Court’s recent preliminary approval of the $228.5 million antitrust settlement that the team reached with Sutter on behalf of the Class.
On Matt’s own LinkedIn, he had the following to say.
I continue to be proud of the top-notch work that our team did in this case against excellent defense counsel — three successful trips to the Ninth Circuit; picking three different juries; arguing two class motions and two SJ motions; and fighting fiercely for the class for over twelve years.
And, while this recognition is appreciated, my real gratification is for the fine lawyers who I was able to work with on this important antitrust case and for the opportunity to make precedent that benefitted the class and, in my view, our health care system and all Americans.
We are extremely proud of the work that our partners and co-counsel put into this case. To read more about the nomination, click here (paywall).
